Job purpose
The job holder is accountable for driving the implementation of a lean O&G construction strategy to uphold engineering excellence and deliver best-in-class products, thereby ensuring that client expectations related to quality, cost and delivery time are met.
Core Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the complete P&L of Oil & Gas division of the organisation
a. Responsible & Accountable to complete the projects within the agreed cost and oversee the delivery of multiple O&G projects throughout their lifecycle, in coordination with Project Directors; ensure that the appropriate processes at each stage of this lifecycle are respected and followed through
b. Evaluate and develop construction methods for optimum utilization of manpower, plant & equipment and materials to meet the companys norms and standards and thereby ensure profitability
c. Create and implement best practice O&G engineering strategy, policies, processes and procedures to meet Group business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets, enabling the organization to function and compete effectively in the market
d. Assess and review the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the project and provide periodic updates to the management.
e. Propose and take preventive and corrective actions to achieve the KPI's
f. Evaluate the challenges faced by Group, and specifically how they impact the O&G line of business, and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities
g. Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budgeting process by providing input from the O&G line of business
h. Oversee the design appropriate project delivery models (e.g. insource vs. outsource) as required by project contexts in an effort to control cost parameters and ensure that engagements are delivered on time and on budget
2. Focal point for liaising and communicating on technical and contractual issues with clients
a. Close-out of the project, handing over and obtaining Completion and Maintenance Certificates from the client
b. Establish and monitor the project risk and plan for mitigating the same
3. Build and lead project and division team for execution of the works
4. Compliance to policies, standards and procedures of the Group and clients
a. Plan, execute, monitor, strategies and control of all the project activities in accordance with the Baseline Program of Works, HSE Plan, Quality Plan and Change/ Variation Control procedures. Implement necessary preventive and corrective actions for deviations / variances
b. Establish quality and reliability standards and key performance indicators by studying industry benchmarks, assessing customer requirements as well as conducting research/design and development; define the metrics required to assess performance against standards required
5. Liaise with the Marketing Department on business development for O&G service offerings
a. Conduct market opportunities and trends research
b. Keep abreast of O&G projects by regularly revisiting the pipeline overview; advise on remedial actions to mitigate project interdependencies and potential bottlenecks

Education requirements Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed University/Institution
Advanced Certifications in Project management/Value Engineering desired
Language requirements English Fluent (mandatory)

Background and experience Competencies and skills Qualifications
BE Mechanical with 25 -30 years experience (Minimum 10 years experience in Gulf) out of which 10 to 15 years as Project Director/Manager with experience in O&G projects
Should have considerable experience of heading the O&G / Hydrocarbon business unit of a leading organisation
Demonstrated experience of O&G sector, particularly extensive exposure to the Gulfs O&G segment Conversant with Primavera Planning Software
Strong business/financial acumen
Leadership skills to plan and motivate excution team BE Mechanical
