Job purpose
The job holder is accountable for overseeing the delivery of all O&G related projects while ensuring that interdependencies between such engagements are properly foreseen and managed. This includes supervising project initiations, overseeing budget planning, monitoring and execution, as well as ensuring that project handover is done in compliance with approved design elements.
Core Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the complete P&L of the Projects/Cluster of Projects, leading a team of Sr / Project Managers
2. Develop and maintain a comprehensive project pipeline overview to understand and control project interdependencies, potential bottlenecks and remedial actions; take a proactive approach on such occurrences.
3. Oversee the delivery of multiple O&G construction projects throughout their lifecycle, regularly liaising with on-site project managers to obtain up-to-date information on their individual status.
4. Design appropriate project delivery models (e.g. insource vs. outsource) as required by project contexts in an effort to control cost parameters and ensure that engagements are delivered on time and on budget.
5. Lead the review of construction documents at project initiation stage as required and assigned.
6. Lead the review of design elements, cost estimations, architectural, electrical, mechanical, structural and construction works as well as all technical drawings and related documents prepared by the Design and Engineering planning counterparts; sign off Drawing Issuance Schedule accordingly.
7. Review and approve the final design development deliverables, including BOQ drawings and specifications in liaison with design & engineering counterparts, as well as budget estimates.
8. Lead the review on construction packages as well as base-line construction programs.
9. Participate in project kick-off meetings between involved departments, consultants and/or sub-contractors as applicable.
10. Provide final sign-off on drawing and material submittals, including sub-contractor procurement.
11. Obtain status reports from on-site project managers on project progress and quality control activities. Provide efficient direction and course correction as required.
12. Assess and review the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the project and provide periodic updates to the management. Propose and take preventive and corrective actions to achieve the KPI's
13. Review reports (Progress Report, Material Submittals, Material Procurement Schedule, Variation Register, QA/QC Report) as and when applicable.
14. Lead regular management reporting on work progress based on project manager input; promptly report on project progression, variations, delays setbacks and bottlenecks, if any.
15. Manage entire testing and commissioning procedure as per approved workflow to ensure thorough testing of mechanical work.
16. Oversee complete project hand-over procedure in compliance to approved workflows for in-house and sub-contracted projects as applicable, including the delivery of the appropriate project closure reports.
17. Previous approval with Oil & Gas Operators will be an added advantage
18. Responsible to maintain highest level of HSE as well as QA/QC standard in line with Client specification requirements / expectations,
19. Understands basic concept of 'Flawless Start Up' & 'Pre Start Up Audit',
20. Capable of handling & control multi discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation) functioning at site.

Education requirements Bachelors or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Advanced Certifications in Project management/Value Engineering desired
Language requirements English Fluent (required)
Background and experience Competencies and skills Qualifications
BE Mechanical with 25 -30 years experience (Minimum 10 years experience in Gulf) out of which 10 to 15 years as Sr Project Manager with experience in executing O&G projects like on-plot/processing facilities including piping, as well as off plot / pipeline networks
Should have considerable experience of managing/heading multiple O&G projects in a leading organisation
Previous approval with Oil & Gas Operators will be an added advantage Primavera Planning
Strong financial acumen
